Valtera offers innovative assessment centers that help identify and develop leadership talent. Our assessment center programs give participants a rich developmental experience in the context of your organization's current environment and challenges.
Participants are evaluated in small groups rather than individually, usually by multiple assessors, using an array of assessment tools that may include any of the following:
- Cognitive measures of abilities such as reasoning, facility with mathematical functions, and planning and organizing.
- Personality and interest inventories to assess personal attributes such as motivations, conscientiousness, assertiveness, energy, and interpersonal skills.
- Interviews to evaluate past experience and future goals and to measure competencies such as oral communication and customer orientation.
- Business case exercises to assess skill in recognizing business problems, analyzing information, developing appropriate solutions, and making sound decisions.
- In-basket exercises to evaluate skills such as written communication, judgment, reasoning, delegation, and planning and coordination.
- Role play exercises to evaluate supervisory skills, coaching capability, sales skills, and insight.
- Business meeting simulations (e.g., team meetings, client presentations) to assess skills such as oral communication, presentation, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
- Group problem-solving exercises to assess creativity, leadership skills, persuasiveness, and team orientation.
- Multi-rater (360) feedback to gain perspectives from individuals at different levels in the organization on targeted aspects of a participant’s performance.
Assessment center activities may be used for selection or development and can be administered in a half-day, full-day or multi-day process under the direction of a psychologist. Valtera also offers post-assessment feedback, support and coaching as participants implement their developmental action plans.
A Rich Experience for Participants
Valtera assessment centers provide participants with valuable behavioral experiences that stimulate new thinking about leadership behaviors. Participants receive detailed feedback describing their specific strengths and developmental opportunities as well as information about how to develop specific skills. In addition, the assessment process can be extended to include developmental coaching, action planning or follow-up training.
Valuable Insights for Organizations
Valtera assessment centers also help organizations learn more about their employees and their future leadership through an accurate, objective, third-party evaluation. With this knowledge, companies can evaluate their bench strength for key positions, improve leadership effectiveness across the organization, and identify organizational strengths and challenges.
Anywhere, Anytime
All Valtera assessment centers are mobile, meaning they can be administered in a variety of locations including Valtera’s facilities, client facilities, virtual environments (via video technology or online) or other off-site locations.
