Job analysis, also referred to as competency modeling, is the detailed documentation of the work activities, behaviors, skills, abilities and personal characteristics required to perform successfully in any given job. In addition, it defines the tools and equipment necessary to drive performance.
Valtera uses job analysis information to develop valid and reliable competency models (tests) that accurately measure these behaviors and skills. The Valtera job analysis process considers the broad context of how an individual contributes to the achievement of organizational strategies and business goals.
Valtera competency models can withstand the most rigorous scrutiny and are legally defensible when used for administrative decision-making. Valid, reliable, defensible models are critical, since competency models provide the foundation for most human capital programs including:
- employee selection systems,
- licensing or certification,
- training and development,
- compensation,
- promotion, and
- multi-rater feedback
